Liquid Serenity — Reduction Woodcut

A jellyfish drifting under a burning orange sun, tentacles trailing red across turquoise and deep blue. The woodgrain runs through every colour, because the block itself is part of the image.

Reduction woodcut. The whole thing came off a single block of wood. I carved away a little more for each colour and printed the layers one on top of the other — lightest first, darkest last. By the time the last colour went down, the block had been cut past the point of ever printing it again. That's why the edition is what it is and can never grow: the original is gone.
