Tidepool Cafecito Cup — Misfit

A small wheel-thrown cup sized for cafecito, cortadito, or a proper espresso — in a cobalt and teal glaze that runs in long vertical streaks over speckled clay, breaking into olive and brown where it thins.

Roughly 3 inches tall, holds about 5 oz — the largest of the cafecito cups.

Why this one is a Misfit

The glaze ran all the way to the bottom and fused to the kiln shelf during firing. I sanded the foot back smooth, so it sits perfectly flat and level with nothing rough to catch on a table.

There is no damage to the cup — no chips, no cracks. What's left is a cosmetic mark on the foot ring where the glaze was removed, and that's the only reason it isn't full price.
